Emotional Maria Taylor trolled with Roll Tide during âSunday Night Footballâ maternity leave tribute
Maria Taylor couldn’t help but cry Sunday on the set of “Sunday Night Football” during the halftime broadcast of the Jacksonville Jaguars-Baltimore Ravens game.
Until, of course the Alabama reference.
“I was in teras until the Roll Tide part,” Taylor said.
Taylor is taking maternity leave but before she goes, the crew surprised her with prerecorded package of well-wishes.
Messages from Jason Garrett, Jac Collinsworth and Mike Florio started the video. Tony Dungy joked Taylor was hitting the transfer portal. Other comments from Devin McCourty, Chris Simms and Rodney Harrison followed.
Matthew Berry, rocking an Alabama sweatshirt, gave Taylor a “Roll Tide.”
The reference was to Alabama beating Georgia in the SEC Championship Game to knock the Bulldogs from the College Football Playoff and derail their chances for a third straight CFP title.
Taylor, a Georgia graduate, will miss for the rest of football season.
“Thank you to my NBC and (Football Night in America) Family for this wonderful send off!” she posted. “It’s been amazing to be your Sunday Night QB week to week, while growing my franchise player. I have never felt more blessed to be somewhere!”
