Emotional country music star reflects on 1-year anniversary of ‘dying twice:’ ‘We ain’t done yet, baby’

Colt Ford has been emotional over the last few weeks, and Saturday was no different.

The country music star took to social media to acknowledge a milestone.

“About this time last year, I had just died … twice,” he said in a video posted on Instagram. “And tonight, a year later, I just played a full show in North Carolina, and it was amazing. And you guys are still here, and I love y’all so freaking much.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We ain’t done yet, baby.”

Last April, Ford told “Big D & Bubba” he’d just got back to his bus and texted his fiancée as the heart attack began. He had canceled shows through August.

Ford, 55, said he died “multiple times.” The country music singer has been on tour with Brantley Gilbert.

“I just walked off the stage with Brantley,” Ford said. “First time really doing anything substantial since the heart attack. It was, forgive me if I get a little emotional, it was unbelievable. People were crying and standing up, and the fans, y’all just loved the life back into me. So grateful for Brantley and his crew bringing me out here and he is my brother, but they just made me feel so unbelievable and so safe, and I was scared.

“I’m still a little nervous. Y’all made me feel so good. It was unbelievable. I’m so grateful for all the love and the comments, and I feel like I can definitely do it again, and I’m gonna. Love y’all so much.”
