Authorities are searching for a Vernon teen missing since Tuesday night.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Wednesday issued an emergency missing child alert for 16-year-old Derick Anthony Cowen Jr.

Derick was last seen about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in Vernon, which is in Lamar County.

He was wearing a black beanie, white shirt with a blue paint splatter pattern, a blue and yell letterman-style jack, black sweatpants, and black boots with two different colored strings.

He is 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

No additional information about his disappearance has been released.
