Elon Musk, users of X, formerly Twitter, have jokes about Facebook, Instagram crashing
With Facebook and Instagram down, many social media users flooded “X,” the social media formerly known as Twitter, to knock the Meta platforms.
News of the outage began to trend on X.
As of 9 a.m., users of the social media site reported issues with logins, apps and website usage. The reports spiked around 9 a.m. CT. Instagram and Facebook Messenger are also down, according to DownDetector.com. Problems have also been reported with Google, YouTube and Snapchat. Instagram users are reporting they can access the app but can’t update feeds.
“We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” Meta spokesperson Andy Stone said in a post on X Tuesday.
As you might imagine, X users – including Elon Musk – took the opportunity to make light of the social media glitches.
