Eagles QB Jalen Hurts joins energy-drink field
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ active offseason has included signing a five-year, $255 million contract extension, receiving a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and making his acting debut in addition to his participation in the NFL team’s offseason program. Now the former Alabama standout has signed a multi-year deal with the energy-drink producer A SHOC, Bloomberg News reported.
Hurts announced his latest venture on Tuesday. While financial terms were not disclosed, Bloomberg reported Hurts had received an equity stake in A SHOC to promote the Accelerator brand.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to have equity in a few places, to be part of the brand,” Hurts said. “Prioritizing the health of athletes and consumers, that’s really important to me.”
Backed by Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., A SHOC produces two products, including Accelerator. The company’s website says: “We don’t pay athletes to hold a can. We partner with the best in class and empower them to reach their peak performance in everything they do.”
A SHOC’s list of endorsers includes Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was a teammate of Hurts at Alabama for three seasons.
The Accelerator Active Energy drink page on A SHOC’s website now shows Hurts with tennis player Paula Badosa, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and golfer Lexi Thompson.
“I’ve never been an energy-drink consumer,” Hurts told Josh Tolentino of the Philadelphia Inquirer, “but I think this is the healthiest option out there.”
Accelerator comes in eight flavors and touts zero sugar, natural caffeine and ocean-mineral electrolytes as its selling points.
