Duke’s Cooper Flagg named AP College Basketball Player of the Year

Duke basketball’s Cooper Flagg was recognized with one of the highest honors in college basketball.

After leading the Blue Devils to the Final Four this week in San Antonio, Flagg was named the AP Player of the Year.

The Blue Devils freshman averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game this season, winning the AP award over Auburn’s Johni Broome.

Flagg was the youngest player in NCAA history to record 30/5/5 stat line in a tournament game against Arizona. He was also the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year

Duke will headline Saturday’s semifinal games against Houston and tipoff is set for 7:09 p.m.
