Authorities are searching for a man who they said did not resurface on Saturday after his kayak capsized at Lake Guntersville in north Alabama.

Few details have been released by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, and the man has not been identified. However, ALEA Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said the man was duck hunting at the lake when the incident happened around 8 a.m. on Saturday, near Goose Pond Resort in Jackson County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division and Aviation Unit responded and are working with other agencies in a search effort. Assisting are the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and Scottsboro and Jackson County Rescue Squads. The search is ongoing, Burkett said.
