Driver who killed woman after running red light arrested for manslaughter, Mobile police say
A woman was a fatal victim in a collision early Sunday morning in Mobile.
Mobile police officers responded to the traffic accident at approximately 12:37 a.m. Sunday, finding Katherine Smith, 38, deceased at the scene.
Smith was crossing Airport Boulevard on McGregor Avenue, when Spencer Strickland, 37, ran a red traffic light and crashed his pickup truck into Smith’s SUV.
Strickland was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.
The jail log states Strickland is held without bond on a charge of manslaughter.
