Driver survives jumping car off tow truck ramp in viral video out of ‘Dukes of Hazzard’

Just another day in fictitious Hazzard County turned into a viral moment last week when a Florida woman was taken to the hospital after a dramatic airborne crash along a Georgia highway. And it was all caught on video.

A 21-year-old Tallahassee, Florida, woman suffered serious injuries after she drove her car up the back ramp of a lowered tow truck ramp on U.S. 84 in Lowndes County before launching 120 feet, flipping and rolling over in the process, according to WCTV in Georgia.

A Lowndes County Sheriff’s deputy was responding to a car accident on the opposite side of the highway and caught the whole incident on his body cam.

The car traveled an additional 23 feet before finally coming to a rest.

According to the report, a deputy was struck by debris and suffered minor injuries after the car made impact with the other vehicle.

The tow truck, described as a roll-back wrecker, was parked in the left lane with its emergency lights activated, the accident report said. Georgia State Patrol Lt. Crystal Zion told WSB-TV that the crash underscores the importance of Georgia’s “Move Over” Law.

“When you see those lights to slow down, move over,” she said.
