Driver shot in attempted Mobile carjacking seeks help at nearby college
A motorist stuck in traffic was shot after refusing to comply with an armed robber’s demand to exit his vehicle.
According to Mobile police, officers responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. Monday on the southwest campus on Bishop State Community College. Arriving at the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man told police he had been stopped in traffic on Victory Drive near Halls Mill Road when an male suspect approached the vehicle, brandished a firearm and demanded the victim exit his vehicle.
The victim refused and the suspect shot him. The victim fled the scene to Bishop State and police were notified. The victim was treated for his injury at a local hospital.
The case remains under investigation.
