Dothan woman rams woman’s vehicle, throws her keys away in fight over man, police say

A Dothan woman is under arrest after police say she rammed her vehicle into another woman in dispute over a man.

Police responded Monday to a home in the 2000 block of Aberdeen Drive to a report of a pedestrian struck, said Lt. Scott Owens.

Officers determined the suspect, 25-year-old Nakeima Thomas, and the victim had a previous disagreement over a relationship with a male acquaintance.

Thomas, Owens said, drove later the same day to the victim’s home to continue the altercation.

When the victim exited her home, Thomas accelerated her vehicle and struck the victim. The impact propelled the victim into some bushes.

Thomas, Owens said, then got her vehicle stuck in the mud. After her vehicle would not budge, she got went into the victim’s vehicle, stole the keys and threw them in an unknown location.

The suspect then grabbed a piece of wood and began to strike the victim’s vehicle, causing substantial damage.

Thomas is charged with first-degree attempted assault and unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle.

Owens said the victim was checked at the scene by Dothan Fire medics and had no serious injuries.
