Dothan man allegedly slashed tires and torched truck, burning ex-girlfriend’s house
A Dothan man is under arrest after authorities say he torched a truck parked inside the garage of his ex-girlfriend’s home.
Keith Jamer Cleveland, 61, is charged with two counts of attempted murder.
Dothan police and firefighters responded early Sunday to a home in the 100 block of Rosewood Drive. Initial reports were that a vehicle and a residence were fully engulfed by fire, said police Lt. Scott Owens.
A woman and man inside the home were able to escape unharmed.
Owens said Cleveland slashed the tires on the truck that was in the garage and then used an accelerant to start the fire. The blaze spread to the home.
Investigators learned that Cleveland had threatened one of the victims with violence prior to the fire starting.
Cleveland is in the Houston County Jail on bonds totaling $120,000.
