Donald Trump appearing on Fox News Town Hall at same time as CNN GOP debate
Former President Donald Trump will appear at a Fox News Town Hall later this month, the network announced.
The event is one of three planned for consecutive nights next week with GOP presidential hopefuls Nikki Haley on Jan. 8, Ron DeSantis on Jan. 9 and Donald Trump on Jan. 10. Haley and DeSantis town halls will start at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT). Trump’s town hall will air during prime time at 9 p.m. ET (8 p.m. CT).
The town halls will air as part of Special Report with chief political anchor Bret Baier and The Story anchor and executive editor Martha MacCallum serving as co-moderators. The candidates will take questions from Baier and MacCallum in front of a live audience.
Trump’s town hall will be held at the same time that CNN is hosting its first GOP presidential debate in Des Moines, Iowa. Only DeSantis, Haley and Trump qualified for the debate. Candidates Chris Christie and Vivek Ramaswamy failed to meet the requirement of 10% in three national or Iowa polls, according to reports.
Trump, the frontrunner in polls for the Republican nomination, has not participated in any of the primary debates and previously urged the GOP National Committee to cancel all future debates.
