Domestic argument ends in fatal stabbing inside Leeds home
A man was fatally stabbed during a domestic argument inside a Leeds home.
Leeds police officers responded just before 5 p.m. Wednesday to a house in the 7900 block of Charles Barkley Avenue.
Police Chief Paul Irwin said officers were dispatched after a woman called 911 to report that she had stabbed her boyfriend. Attempts to save the man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:16 p.m.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Jeremy Marcel Marbury. He was 35.
Investigators questioned the woman and then took her to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the argument. She is not being held in police custody.
Irwin said there was a history of domestic violence between the couple.
Once the investigation is complete, the evidence will be presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
Marbury is the first homicide in Leeds in 2023.
