Dollar Tree will soon offer products that cost $7
Dollar Tree shoppers may soon see items priced well over a dollar.
Grocery Dive reports the discount retailer is adding 300 items priced between $1.50 and $7 to 3,000 stores as it aims to offer a wider variety of items including food and snacks, beverages, pet care and personal care items.
During a Wednesday earnings call, Dollar Tree CEO Rick Dreiling said the new items fall under plans for the brand’s “multi-price assortment.”

Over time, Dollar Tree will integrate its multi-price merchandise into more stores so shoppers can find “$5 bags of dog food next to our traditional $1.25 pet treats and toys, and our $3 bags of candy will be found in the candy aisle,” according to Dreiling.
Dollar Tree started moving away from its trademark dollar prices in 2021 when it raised the prices of the goods sold in its stores to $1.25. According to Grocery Dive, Dollar Tree credited this “breaking the dollar” strategy with improving comp sales and growing its product selection.
