Dollar General expands to 48th state
Dollar General is expanding into its 48th state.
The discount retailer plans to open its first store in Montana in fall of 2023, marking its expansion into every state in the continental U.S., ChainStoreAge.com reported. Construction is underway in on two store locations in Montana, Columbia Falls in Flathead County and Eureka in Lincoln County.
“Announcing plans for Montana has an extra element of excitement at Dollar General because our expansion in the Treasure State will complete our presence throughout the lower 48. We look forward to celebrating our first Montana grand opening in the coming months and to serve new customers, employees and communities soon,” said Steve Deckard, Dollar General executive VP of growth and emerging markets.
The expansion comes after its first-ever international expansion in Mexico.
Tennessee-based Dollar General operates 19,147 Dollar General, DG Market, DGX and Pop Shelf stores across the U.S.
