Canine care chain Dogtopia will open its second Alabama location in Madison next month.

Located at 181 Hughes Road, the new 8,000-square-foot spa and store will offer several services for North Alabama dog lovers.

Dogtopia currently has a location in Homewood at 1722 27th Court St. S., and will open later this year in Birmingham’s Urban Supply.

“We’re excited to open the first Dogtopia in North Alabama,” Lisa Mulvey, general manager, said. “Residents deserve a place where they can trust their dogs are being well taken care of, and we’re proud to provide that.”

Dogtopia offers open-play daycare in supervised climate-controlled playrooms where dogs are separated by size, temperament and play style. It also offers overnight and long-term ‘staycations,’ with home-style crates or private suites.

Dogs can also receive full-service spa treatments, including shampoos, bath time massages, brush-outs, nail trims, ear cleanings and teeth brushing.

Dog owners also have access to web cams and receive report cards.

The first 100 customers to enroll their dogs will save 25% on Dogtopia’s two-day-a-week or three-day-a-week enrollment programs.

An open house date will be announced later where Dogtopia customers can meet the staff, mingle with other pet owners and tour the facility.
