Costco may be planning a second north Alabama store near Madison based on the actions of the Madison County Commission. The commission approved two agreements on its agenda Wednesday for work on and near developer Louis Breland’s Breland Farm development on U.S.72 West.

One agenda item gave approval to “Authorize Chairman to Execute Agreement with Clift Home Place, LLC and Costco Wholesale Corporation regarding Drainage Easement (General).”

A second item authorized Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon to negotiate a cost contract on the roadwork that would be needed on U.S. 72 to support COSTCO-level traffic.
