Does Huntsville have a litter problem? Some residents think so

Does one of the best places to live in America have a problem with litter?

Some people think so, including the mayor.

Erica Reyes voiced her concerns at a Hispanic town hall hosted by the city on Oct. 30. Reyes said she brought up the issue with District 4 City Councilman Bill Kling during his bid for reelection.

“I am a traveler. I spent probably about 100 days traveling to different cities, countries, stuff like that,” she said. “I personally believe that for the size, and maybe I’m wrong, but for the size that Huntsville, we’re seeing a lot of littering, especially in the west side, north Huntsville. I’ve even seen it in Madison. It is everywhere.”

Reyes believes the city should allocate more funds to ensure that Huntsville remains clean.
