Dodgers fan gets obliterated by security in viral on-field proposal video, but she said yes

You know what they say about the best laid plans.

One Los Angeles Dodgers fan found out the hard way as his heart appeared to be in the right place even if he wasn’t.

On Opening Day at Dodger Stadium, Ricardo Juarez, as identified by Jenna Lemoncelli of the “New York Post,” jumped the rail onto the field between innings, got down on one knee in center field and pulled a ring out of his pocket and was ready to propose to Ramona Saavedra.

That’s when security hit him like a middle linebacker with a bead on a wide receiver coming over the middle. The vicious hit went viral.

As it turns out this proposal-gone-wrong does indeed have a happy ending. Not only did Juarez not fumble the ring, Saavedra appears to have said yes.

Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was all of us Thursday watching the events play out right in front of him.

By the way, Will Smith went 3 for 5 and drove in three runs, James Outman homered and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2.

Julio Urías (1-0), last year’s NL ERA leader at 2.16, got the victory in his first career opening-day start. The left-hander allowed four hits and two runs in six innings. He struck out six.
