Did Donald Trump snub ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ star? What a viral UFC 314 video doesn’t show
Cheryl Hines was mocked on social media after a viral clip appeared to show President Donald Trump ignore the actor’s outstretched hand while acknowledging Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — his Health and Human Services Secretary and Hines’ husband.
On Saturday, the ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ star and Kennedy attended UFC 314, where Trump had front-row seats as he watched the fight card alongside Elon Musk.
In a clip widely circulated on social media, Trump embraces Kennedy as Hines goes in for a handshake. But Trump doesn’t reciprocate, and keeps on going.
The video led some to say Hines, a lifelong Democrat, was snubbed by the president.
But as noted by Trump supporters, the president later goes on to chat with Hines at the UFC event, suggesting the perceived slight was anything but:
Trump shook hands with some supporters as he walked to his cageside seat Saturday night at Miami’s Kaseya Center while others waved his trademark red campaign cap.
The Republican president, who stayed for several hours before flying back to his home in Palm Beach, said it was a “great honor” to receive that recognition from the crowd.
“It says we’re doing a good job. If we weren’t doing a good job, we’d get the opposite,” he told reporters accompanying him aboard Air Force One.
