Developers are endangering the character of Green Mountain, Huntsville residents say

Green Mountain residents say recent development is changing the character of the mountain, close to a popular nature trail.

They aren’t happy about that.

They voiced their displeasure at the Sept. 26 Huntsville Planning Commission meeting at City Hall, stating their opposition to the 32-lot Reunion on Green Mountain subdivision under construction south of Shawdee Road and north Nature Trail Road near the Madison County Nature Trail.

“It’s already clear cut,” Nature’s Ridge Way resident Jennifer Post said during a public hearing on repreliminary approval for the subdivision. “There’s nothing absolutely standing in that entire area.”

Monte Vedra resident Anita Reck – who frequently has spoken out at the commission’s meetings about Green Mountain issues – echoes those sentiments.
