Desmond Howard has put No. 11 Alabama on upset alert ahead of the Crimson Tide’s game at Texas A&M on Saturday.

The ESPN “GameDay” analyst, who appeared on “First Take” on Friday likes the matchup for Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies.

“I like Alabama to be on upset alert simply because they’re on the road, and A&M, they always play them pretty tough,” Howard said. “The Aggies, they could have won last year in Tuscaloosa, and don’t forget, that was a game that Bryce Young did not play. And Jalen Milroe was the quarterback for Alabama, and they almost lost it in Tuscaloosa.”

To be fair, he was asked which team would he put on upset alert, Georgia or Alabama?

It’s impossible for the Aggies to ignore the fact that a win over the Crimson Tide would give them a big push as they aim for their first SEC West title since joining the league in 2012. Alabama and Texas A&M are tied for first place in the West after both have opened their seasons 4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Aggies have won three in a row, including SEC wins over Auburn and Arkansas, since a 48-33 loss at Miami.

“Now Jalen Milroe, he has to go on the road to College Station and going up against this Aggies team that’s looking for a signature win,” Howard said. “I think defensively, the Aggies should have enough athletes defensively that they could put a spy on Jalen Milroe, keep him in the pocket and beat them with his arm as opposed to his legs. This is going to be a great matchup.”

Texas A&M vs. Alabama kicks off at 2:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. ET) and will air on CBS.
