Derrion Reid injury update: Nate Oats shares latest before Alabama vs Kentucky
Alabama men’s basketball could still be without one of its regulars in the rotation against No. 8 Kentucky.
Derrion Reid is questionable for the game against the Wildcats, Alabama coach Nate Oats said Friday. The Crimson Tide is set to face Kentucky on Saturday (11 a.m. CT, ESPN) in Lexington, Kentucky.
“He’s recovering,” Oats said. “He didn’t go full 5 on 5 today … If he’s not able to go tomorrow, hopefully next week. From everything (trainer) Clarke (Holter) is telling me, he’s coming along, I just don’t know if it will be tomorrow yet or not.”
Reid missed the Ole Miss game with an injury as the No. 21 Rebels beat No. 4 Alabama 74-64 at Coleman Coliseum on Tuesday.
Reid is averaging 17.6 minutes per game this season with 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.3 blocks. Reid is a true freshman and former McDonald’s All-American.
