Decomposing remains found on Jefferson County roadside ID’d as 45-year-old Birmingham man
A body found on a Jefferson County roadside earlier this week has now been identified.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said the decomposing remains were those of Dustin Ryan Butler. He was 45 and lived in Birmingham.
A postal worker made the discovery just before 10 a.m. Wednesday between Slope Drive and Middle Street in Mulga. The body was spotted on the side of the road.
Jefferson County sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said the Butler was in the advanced stages of decomposition.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said an autopsy found no evidence of trauma or foul play. The cause of death is pending additional laboratory studies.
