Decomposed body found on Jefferson County roadside; investigation underway
An investigation is underway after a body was found Wednesday morning.
A postal worker made the discovery just before 10 a.m. between Slope Drive and Middle Street in Mulga. The body was spotted on the side of the road.
Jefferson County sheriff’s Lt. Joni Money said the male’s body was in the advanced stages of decomposition.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is trying to determine the man’s identity and a cause of death.
Sheriff’s investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
