Decatur police charge man in multiple robberies, stolen property
A man was arrested and charged in connection to three separate robberies between Oct. 19 to Oct. 21 at a La Quinta Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Metro by T-Mobile in Decatur.
During the robberies, the suspect was seen on surveillance video using a dark-colored Dodge Caravan, according to a Decatur Police Department press release. The van was captured on surveillance video, and officers began a search for the vehicle in the area.
Early Sunday morning, the Decatur police located the Dodge, initiated a stop, and identified the suspect as 42-year-old Reginald Eugene Carlisle.
The release said a search conducted in the Caravan found that Carlisle was in possession of crack cocaine, along with several items believed to be used in the robberies.
The release also states, “After further investigation, the vehicle was also found to be stolen through the Madison Police Department.”
Carlisle was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree robbery, and a charge for first-degree receiving stolen property. Carlisle is being held without bond per Aniah’s Law.
