Danny Kanell on Alabama’s loss to Texas: ‘Their days of dominating are done’

Danny Kanell didn’t hold back Saturday night when breaking down what went wrong for No. 3 Alabama in the 34-24 loss to No. 11 Texas.

Quinn Ewers passed for 349 yards and three touchdowns, and Alabama fans were headed for the exits long before the game was over. The Longhorns, meanwhile, delivered the biggest victory under Steve Sarkisian in a game that slipped away last season.

Shortly after the game, Kanell laid it out on the state of Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide.

“We need to be honest about Bama instead of trying to sugarcoat this game and talk about them getting to the playoffs,” he posted. “They just got pushed around at home. They have issues at QB. They are not disciplined. Their days of dominating are done.”

Alabama had its 21-game home winning streak snapped along with a 57-game regular-season binge against nonconference teams dating to Nick Saban’s debut season, 2007.

Alabama’s Jalen Milroe delivered big plays passing and running, but also was picked off twice on bad decisions. He was 14 of 27 for 255 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
