Dabo Swinney calls Saban ‘natural’ on GameDay but makes on-air suggestion to former Alabama coach

Dabo Swinney is trying to help.

The Clemson coach, who appeared Saturday on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” wanted to make it clear to the guys he had some advice to help the popular college football pregame show.

It had to do with Nick Saban.

“I got one suggestion for ‘GameDay’ that I think can take y’all to new levels,” Swinney said. “It’s going to take coach Saban a little while to settle in, but he’s a natural. Y’all know that. He’s already made you better.

If y’all can, at some point during the year get him on set with a Pat McAfee tank top side by side, it’s over.”

Saban quipped, “I’m gonna have to start working out.”

It had already been a headline-grabbing Saturday for Saban, who cursed during the broadcast – to the delight of his colleagues – when talking about NIL.
