Cybertruck explosion at Las Vegas Trump Towers kills 1, injures several

A Tesla cybertruck explosion in front of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas has left one dead on New Year’s Day.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said that the explosion was reported at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday morning and left one dead with several others injured. Authorities have confirmed there is no further threat to the community, but urged people to avoid the immediate area around the explosion site.

Surveillance footage of the explosion was recently released, displaying the extend of the explosion.

“We were told that a 2024 Cyber Truck pulled up to the hotel. In fact, I can tell you it pulled up right to the glass entrance doors of the hotel. We saw that smoke started showing from the vehicle and then a large explosion occurs,” LVMP Sheriff Kevin McMahill said in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

The Sheriff added that he was unsure if the deceased individual was male or female.

“We are investigating a number of leads that I’m not prepared to release any of that information to you just yet. I can tell you there are seven victims right now that sustained injuries from the explosion. All of these have been reported to me as minor injuries,” McMahill continued.

The Sheriff stated that he hopes to release more information regarding the investigation later today.
