Cullman hires former West Point baseball coach to lead softball program
Cullman High School didn’t have to look far for its next head softball coach.
Former West Point baseball coach Drew Bryson has been hired as the next head softball coach at Cullman after being approved by the Cullman City School Board on Wednesday.
“Drew’s coaching experience spans various levels of athletics, from youth travel teams to high school programs,” Cullman City Schools athletic director Mike Dean wrote in a release. “He emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship, believing that sports offer valuable life lessons.
“Through athletics, Drew instills leadership, perseverance, and collaboration in his student-athletes, qualities that are essential for personal growth.”
Bryson returns to his alma mater after seven seasons as the head baseball coach at West Point High School.
During his tenure with the Warriors’ baseball team, he totaled over 100 wins and advanced to the Class 5A state playoffs twice.
Along with serving as an assistant at Curry High School in Jasper, he also served as an assistant with Cullman’s varsity baseball team under Alabama Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame member Brent Patterson.
