A brand new season of the hit crime series Criminal Minds: Evolution premieres on Paramount Plus Thursday, May 8.

For those unfamiliar with the reimagined Criminal Minds, Criminal Minds: Evolution is a continuation of the original series and includes returning cast mates Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Paget Brewster and more.

The elevated version of the original stills follows the same basic plot: an elite group of FBI profilers analyzes the country’s most twisted criminal minds and attempt to figure out the perpetrator’s next moves before they strike again.

Each member of the “mind hunter” team brings his or her expertise to pinpoint predators’ motivations and identify emotional triggers to stop them.

The season 18 premiere episode follows the BAU as race to find the unidentified suspect responsible for a mass of bodies washing up on the Maryland shoreline. Meanwhile, after surviving a prison attack, Elias Voit has been placed in a medically induced come while Rossi (Mantegna) is investigated for the incident.
