Crashing involving train and vehicle in Montgomery injures 2, blocks roadway

A morning crash between a train and a vehicle in Montgomery left two people injured and has blocked the roadway.

Montgomery police and fire medics responded at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of Hyundai Boulevard at the intersection of U.S. 331, said police Maj. Saba Coleman.

The driver and the passenger of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Coleman said.

Alabama State Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett said all lanes of the intersection will be blocked for an undetermined amount of time.

Burkett and Coleman are encouraging motorists to avoid the area by using an alternate route.
