Sam Hunt, the Georgia native with Alabama ties, is out on tour this summer. Although he won’t be stopping in Alabama, he will have one date in Memphis, Tenn.

Hunt will appear in “Live at the Garden” Aug. 23, 2024, at the Memphis Botanic Garden’s Radians Amphitheater. Ryan & Rory will open the show.

Hunt has ties to Birmingham and Montevallo in Alabama.

According to an article on AL.com, Hunt was “starting quarterback for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Blazers in 2006-2007 and made one of his first public music performances with the UAB Gospel Choir.”

Hunt met his future wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, during his time at UAB. She is a native of Montevallo and Hunt’s debut album was called “Montevallo.” The album produced five hit singles and was certified “4× Platinum” by the Recording Industry Association of America. His second studio album, “Southside,” was released in 2020.
