Country music star declares 2025 final year touring

John Michael Montgomery has declared 2025 as his final year of touring.

“Happy New Year!” the country music singer posted on Facebook on Dec. 31. “We had a great 2024, thanks to everyone who came out to the shows. Looking forward to seeing you next year as I kick off my ROAD TO HOME farewell tour. Wishing you all a blessed 2025!”

It isn’t the first time Montgomery has teased a final year of touring. He had a similar messages to start 2024.

“I have decided to wind down my touring career over this year and 2025,” the then-58-year-old posted to start the year. “It’s been a wonderful run for me from the beginning over 30 years ago in 1992 when my first song ‘Life’s A Dance’ was released to radio. I think either as a 45 vinyl or on a cassette tape, CDs had not quite taken over the market yet and the internet was still in its infancy.

The Kentucky native made his breakthrough with the 1993 top 5 Hot Country Songs hit “Life’s a Dance,” and won the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award in 1994.

“It amazes me where it is today,” he added last year. “I’ve been fortunate and blessed to be able to do what I love for so many years so please join me on my journey as I say goodbye to the road life. And thanks so much for your support for the last three decades, it’s meant so much me.
