Country music star Chris Young charged with assaulting officer checking IDs at Nashville bar
Country music singer Chris Young was arrested Monday night at a Nashville bar.
The Tennessean reports Young was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and assault on an officer, per court records filed Tuesday.
ABC agents, per Fox 17, were at the Tin Roof for a compliance check. The affidavit said agents checked Young’s ID card when Young “started asking questions.”
Young began video recording authorities. Agents and officers continued with a compliance check next door at the Dawg House, and Young followed.
“While walking out the door Mr. Young put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder,” the affidavit said, per The Tennessean. “I then pushed Mr. Young to create distance since I had no idea of who Mr. Young was or what he had.”
That’s when patrons got between the official and Young “and began yelling and screaming.” According to the affidavit, Young had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and watery eyes.
