Country music legend’s granddaughter, reality TV star, says baby girl diagnosed with epilepsy

Emmy Russell and her husband shared on social media their 7-month-old girl has been diagnosed with infantile spasms a day after she asked for prayers for her daughter.

Russell, who is Loretta Lynn‘s granddaughter and a former “American Idol” finalist, and husband Tyler Ward shared the news.

“We learned yesterday that she has infantile spasms,” Ward explains in the couple’s video.

“Which, after doing research, it’s .002 percent of conditions. So, very, very rare.”

On Sunday, Taylor Raydiant was rushed to the hospital with signs of spasms.

According to the Child Neurology Foundation, infantile spasms is a form of epilepsy.

“Often, treated early, results can be positive. It’s about a 50/50 chance, which is crazy,” Ward said in the update video.

Russell added that rocking her daughter and singing hymns to her offered peace through the ordeal.

“I feel better after holding her and singing to her and trusting Him,” she says in one clip of the video.

“I don’t even have words, I’m just really grateful, and I know that Emmy is grateful,” Ward tells fans. “This is a process.”
