Country music legend has second child in need of ‘critical’ surgery in last month; prayers requested

A second child of the late country music singer Loretta Lynn is facing a critical health issue.

Cissie Lynn, 71, announced on Facebook on Monday she was undergoing an oral surgery for cancer.

“It has been at least 10 years since my first one,” she posted. “That’s a blessing. This one is (worse) than the other it also is (in) my mouth. I don’t know what to say because I’m way too emotional and scared this time.”

She asked for prayers, and made one very heartbreaking comment.

“God how I wish my sweet mama could just hold me tonight,” she wrote.

A post on Loretta Lynn’s X account, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, acknowledged Cissie’s “critical surgery” and asked for prayers.

This comes less than a month after Ernest Ray Lynn – Lynn’s son – underwent a surgery to help deal with kidney failure. Things were looking rough for the 69-year-old for several days, but he has sense returned home and is healing there.

“I have no explanation for it other than GOD,” Ernest’s wife, Crystal, wrote on Facebook back on Jan. 30. “One day we can’t get a successful dialyzation … (3 weeks total). The next day we can. One day we’re facing more serious circumstances. The next day we’re not. One day we’re not certain what the future holds. The next day, we have confidence that the future is bright.

“God can do what we cannot, and HE has done it!!!”
