Country music icon returns to stage for first time in year after health scare

Tim McGraw was back on stage performing Saturday night for the first time in almost a year.

The country music star, 58, was the headliner at the Music City Rodeo at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

“Thank you! My name’s Tim, better known as Faith Hill’s husband, which I like a lot,” McGraw said when his set started Saturday, per Music Mayhem. “Welcome to the inaugural Music City Rodeo! Had you had a good time? Give it up for Miss Reba (McEntire), Mr. Jelly Roll and my boys. I want to thank my team for putting this together, Pat, Brian, Down Home, everybody that did such a great job. And thanks to you guys for showing up and supporting this. We’re going to be here every single year, so I want y’all to keep coming out. It’s been a blast doing this and a big hand for the cowboys and cowgirls. It wouldn’t be a show without those guys.”

McGraw brought his three daughters, Gracie (28), Maggie (26), and Audrey (23), onstage during his performance.

In June 2024, McGraw was forced to cancel the rest of his Standing Room Only tour because of his health.

Ahead of his return to the stage, McGraw opened up about the severity of his health issues.

“I’m getting there,” McGraw said in response to being asked, “Are you OK?” during an appearance on “The Bobby Bones Show.”
