Country band Alabama thanks celebrity couple for using hit song in wedding

Founding members of the country band Alabama made an appearance on “Jenna and Friends” recently to share a message for a Hollywood couple who used one of their hits songs at the wedding.

During the “TODAY with Jenna and Friends” on Friday, actress Olivia Munn, who was co-hosting, was surprised with a sweet message from Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry, of Alabama the band, after Munn and her husband, comedian John Mulaney, played their hit “I’m in a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)” as their wedding song in July 2024.

“We are thrilled to hear you and John picked our song ‘I’m in a Hurry,’ for your wedding song,” said Gentry and Owen in a video sent in from the Alabama Fan Club and Museum in Fort Payne, Ala. “We’re glad that song means so much to you. It means a lot to us and the group Alabama as well. We hope it continues to inspire you and your family. Remember, ‘All I got to do is live and die, but I’m in a hurry and don’t know why.‘”

Afterward, Munn said that the message meant a lot and knew Mulaney would be excited to hear about it. The comedian later commented on an Instagram post the show shared of the message, saying “That is so sweet and they would be so bummed to watch me two-step to it.”
