Corner blitzes Oak Grove, wins 7 straight for 1st time in school history
Since starting its program in 1946, Corner has never won seven straight football games — until now.
Class 4A eighth-ranked Corner scored the game’s first 35 points on the way to a 42-13 victory over Oak Grove.
The Yellow Jackets (7-0, 5-0) clinched a Region 5 playoff spot with the victory.
“We have a great senior class and I feel like we have a player-led team,” said first-year head coach Tent Campbell. “They seem to really enjoy themselves and enjoy one another. It’s been fun to watch them.”
Corner used a balanced offense with quarterback Brendan Conner completing 9-of-14 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown, adding 108 rushing yards on nine carries with three more scores.
The Yellow Jackets ran for 226 yards on 32 carries and completed 11-of-18 passes for 171 yards.
