Cooper’s Hawk winery and restaurant to open first Alabama location
Construction is beginning on a new winery and restaurant in Clift Farm.
Madison County issued a permit for the Cooper’s Hawk Restaurant and Winery earlier this month, according to permits pulled by Southern Exposure Information.
Since April 10, it was one of 421 permits issued in the Huntsville area, totaling $84.7 million across Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties.
Cosgrove Construction is building the $6.5 million, 12,448-square foot restaurant at 8228 U.S. 72 West just north of the Madison City limits. It is the franchise’s first location in Alabama.
The restaurant franchise was founded in 2005. The Cooper’s Hawk concept includes four components: an upscale casual dining restaurant, full-service bar, private barrel-aging room, and Napa-style tasting room and retail gift store, according to the restaurant website.
Steak, chicken and seafood are among the items on the menu in addition to a wide selection of wine and beers. Brunch will also be served at the restaurant.
Cooper’s Hawk has restaurants in 14 states, with seven, including the one in Madison, opening later this year.
