The long-awaited Stivers Ford dealership in Birmingham’s Palisades Mall is set to break ground within the next month according to Pell City based contractor Goodgame Company.

Goodgame Company received a building permit for over $15 million this month to begin work on the project which was first announced in July of 2021 according to a report from AL.com’s Greg Garrison.

The dealership, which has a projected price tag of $23 million, will be located at the former address of Birmingham’s Virginia College location after the abandoned college building has been torn down according to former statements by Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin.

“When I consider the economic growth that will be generated at the Palisades location, I see how it will help the entire city,” said Woodfin previously. “Developments like this enhance our revenue base in order to support all of our neighborhoods.”

According to Garrison’s report the dealership and it’s adjacent Bronco showroom will create roughly 83 new jobs in Birmingham.
