Community meetings set to discuss recycling in Mobile County

Next week, Mobile and other municipalities in Mobile County will hold meetings in the community to discuss recycling services in the county.

The Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) gave a grant to the municipalities, including the city of Bayou La Batre, Saraland, Semmes and Dauphin Island, to gather input from area residents about their recycling habits and their interest in more recycling.

The cities launched an online survey where residents can answer questions about their recycling habits. In addition, the city of Mobile and other municipalities will be hosting three community meetings on recycling:

– The city of Bayou La Batre will host a community meeting at Bayou La Batre Community Center on May 23 at 1 p.m.

– The city of Mobile will host a community meeting at the Connie Hudson Senior Center on May 23 at 6 p.m.
