Deion Sanders has Colorado humming with three wins, including defeats of No. 17 TCU and Nebraska. The Buffaloes narrowly beat Colorado State in Week 3 and Travis Hunter suffered an injury that will sideline the star CB/WR for three weeks, making the Pac-12 showdown with Oregon additionally challenging for Colorado.

Oregon has looked stellar through three weeks thanks to magnificent performances from Bo Nix, who has completed 77% of his passes for 893 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Ducks passed its first test of the season in Week 2 vs. Texas Tech. Oregon trailed by nine points in the fourth quarter but outscored the Red Raiders 20-3 in the final frame to lift the Ducks to a road victory.

Alabama hasn’t had a very Alabama start to the 2023 season. The Crimson Tide lost to Texas at Bryant-Denny Stadium and were tied with USF 3-3 at halftime of Week 3 before scoring 14 unanswered points and winning 17-3.

Nick Saban made a controversial move ahead of the South Florida game, benching Jalen Milroe in favor of Tyler Buchner, who threw for 34 yards. Ty Simpson also got some action, throwing for 73 yards. Luckily for the Tide, the rushing attack shouldered the load with 203 yards and two touchdowns.

Ole Miss has only two wins in its last 19 meetings with Alabama but has an opportunity to notch a victory vs. a vulnerable Crimson Tide squad.

The Rebels have taken care of business through three games, including a 37-20 defeat of No. 24 Tulane in Week 2. Ole Miss’ offense is powered by Jaxson Dart, who has 852 passing yards, 213 rushing yards, and nine total touchdowns.

The Pac-12 has been tremendous in 2023, and time will tell if one team can rise to the top. In recent years, Pac-12 teams have knocked each other out of College Football Playoff contention once conference play began.

Utah is undefeated as it awaits the return of Cam Rising, who suffered a knee injury in January and has yet to suit up this season.

It seems unlikely that Rising will play vs. the Bruins, and if he can’t go, dual-threat QB Nate Johnson will be under center. Johnson threw for 193 yards, ran for 71 yards, and had two total touchdowns in a 31-7 Week 3 triumph vs. Weber State.

The Bruins lost star QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson to the NFL but have continued to roll early this season. UCLA has been extremely efficient in the rushing attack, averaging 270 yards per game, the third-highest mark in college football. The Bruins’ 7.4 yards per carry lead the nation.

D.J. Uiagalelei was nails in Oregon State’s first two games but was shaky in a Week 3 win over San Diego State. D.J. threw for 284 yards and one touchdown but had two turnovers.

Luckily, Damien Martinez and the Beavers’ ball carriers picked up the slack, rushing for 191 total yards. Oregon State’s defense balled out, sacking Jalen Mayden six times and tallying nine tackles for loss.

Washington State earned a convincing 31-22 Week 2 victory against Wisconsin, proving the Cougars are an under-the-radar threat in the Pac-12. Cameron Ward is quietly having a spectacular season with 986 passing yards, the sixth-most in college football, and zero interceptions.

Washington State struggles to establish the run, as Ward is Wazzou’s leading rusher with 95 yards. This appears to be a troublesome matchup for the Cougars, considering Oregon State’s defense is third in the Pac-12, allowing 202 passing yards per game.

Best Week 4 college football matchups and odds: No. 24. Iowa vs. No. 7 Penn State (-14.5)

After Sean Clifford was Penn State’s starting QB for four seasons, many questioned what the Nittany Lions’ offense would look like with Drew Allar at the helm. So far, Allar has been consistent, with 737 yards, four scores, and no interceptions. Penn State has leaned on its rushing attack, which averages 208 yards per game.

But moving the rock this week will be trying vs. an Iowa defense that allows only 12 points per game. The Hawkeyes are 3-0 on the year, and the offense finally showed signs of life in a 41-10 shellacking of Western Michigan.

Leshon Williams led the way with 145 rushing yards on just 12 carries, good for 12 yards a pop. Another solid performance offensively could lead Iowa to an upset victory, but getting the job done in a night showdown at Beaver Stadium is a tall order.
