College football geniuses, make your Week 9 picks

College football warlocks, werewolves and bewitching game-day bandits, it’s time to take the Week 9 6-0 Challenge presented by Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero.

Two things to remember before making your picks this week. One, don’t forget that picks are against the spread. And, two, don’t take Joe’s advice because he’s currently 18-30 against the spread for the season.

As they like to say in Vegas, fade Joe for dough!

The 6-0 Challenge is a game that everyone can play, but only the college-football geniuses among us can win. We only had one winner of the game between Weeks 6 and 7 of the season, but last week delivered a triumvirate of champions. The three victors: Al Bundy, Eddie Herring and an entry form by the handle of “a monkey, a typewriter, and infinity …”

All three sports donks get their names in the Hall of Fame of Joe’s newsletter, SPORTS! Happy Hour. Signing up for the newsletter is easy, and who doesn’t love free drinks?

As for the overall winner, we’re going to give the Week 8 prize to “a monkey, a typewriter, and infinity …” Per rules of the 6-0 Challenge, an overall winner will be determined each week by the creativity of a player’s Name/Handle. If there are no winners, then everyone’s a winner because Joe goes through hundreds and hundreds of entries and picks his favorite nicknames.

Joe went 2-4 straight up and against the spread last week. He’d like to say it was his worst week in the 15-year history of Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero, but we all know he’s capable of far less.

It’s time to make your picks for Week 9 of the 6-0 Challenge presented by Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero.

It’s Joe vs. the Pro and Hero … vs. You!

Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero is the beloved pick’ems feature that runs every week on AL.com during the college football season. Readers can now get in on the action by making your picks against the spread, too.
