The Alabama High School Athletic Association soccer season is underway and results from the first week’s competition has resulted in two changes atop the coaches’ Top 10 polls, both on the boys’ side.

Homewood, at 2-0, moved to the top of the Class 6A ranking ahead of preseason No. 1 Fort Payne, which is now ranked second with a 2-2 mark. St. Luke’s (2-1-1) replaced preseason No. 1 Tanner (2-2) in the Class 1A/3A rankings. Tanner dropped to No. 2.

The top-ranked boys’ teams this week are Oak Mountain in Class 7A, John Carroll in 5A and Bayside Academy in 4A.

The No. 1 teams on the girls’ side remain Oak Mountain in 7A, Homewood in 6A, Springville in 5A, Westminster Christian in 4A and Westminster-Oak Mountain in 1A/3A.
