Clemson’s Dabo Swinney unable to vote: ‘They done voted me out of the state’

Dabo Swinney’s legal name is William Swinney, which isn’t a big deal unless the Clemson coach is going to exercise his right to vote.

The issue Tuesday was that William Swinney had already voted. Dabo Swinney and his son, who voted early, share the same legal name.

“They done voted me out of the state,” Swinney joked with reporters. “Lost the game. We’re 6-2 and 5-1. They done shipped me off. “

What he said should have taken 10 minutes took an hour, but the election officials told him that his vote and his son’s vote “will count on Friday.”
