2024 March Madness DFS bonuses: Men’s and women’s Sweet 16 preview

A week ago, we started with 136 men’s and women’s NCAA Tournament teams, and now we’re down to 32 in each bracket.

The men’s Sweet 16 gets rolling Thursday with the semifinals in both the East (Boston) and West (Los Angeles) regions.

That includes East top seed and defending national champion Connecticut squaring off with fifth-seeded San Diego State in a rematch of last April’s title game. Tipoff Thursday is set for 7:39 p.m. ET on TBS and truTV.

All eight men’s No. 1 and No. 2 seeds are still alive, including Midwest top seed Purdue.

The Boilermakers’ 7-foot-4 senior center Zach Edey has been nothing short of a force so far with a combined 53 points, 35 rebounds and six blocked shots in his first two tourney games. Edey’s DFS prop totals are sure to attract heavy interest Friday when Purdue faces fifth-seeded Gonzaga in a 7:39 p.m. Midwest semifinal in Detroit.

The two men’s South Region semifinals also are set Friday in Dallas.

Speaking of Friday, that’s when women’s Sweet 16 play begins with the Region 1 and 4 semifinals in Albany, N.Y., and Portland, Ore., respectively.

Undefeated South Carolina, the women’s No. 1 overall seed, is in action Friday as it takes on Region 1 fourth-seeded Indiana in Albany (5 p.m. ET, ESPN).

The women’s Saturday Sweet 16 slate features the Region 2 (Albany) and Region 3 (Portland) semis.

Senior guard Caitlin Clark and Region 2 top-seed Iowa will once again serve as the headliner as the Hawkeyes take on fifth-seeded Colorado at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. Clark has averaged 29.5 points, eight rebounds and 6.5 assists in Iowa’s first two tourney wins over Holy Cross and West Virginia.
