Chrysler recall: 330,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees may cause drivers to lose control of vehicles

More than 330,00 Jeep Grand Cherokees have been recalled by Chrysler because of a steering wheel issue that may cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

It is the third recall by the automaker over the last week.

The recall is for 338,238 of Chrysler’s 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L and 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles.

The automaker posted documents this week by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

No crashes or injuries were caused by the defect, according to Chrysler, who said they would contact customers starting April 12.

Chrysler recalled just more than 199,000 Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee vehicles for a software error that may cause the defrosting and defogging system to malfunction.

Chrysler also recalled 9,000 Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L vehicles from the 2023 and 2024 model years because their high beam lights failed to comply with federal requirements. Dealers will reconfigure the high beams for free, regulators said.
